The Planning Board's role is to guide the orderly growth and development of the County through the approval of development plans, as well as recommendations to the County Council and Zoning Board on all matters relating to planning and zoning, including the County's General Development Plan, zoning map amendments and zoning regulation amendments.
Please note the deadline for registration for virtual participation is 1 business day, no later than 7:00 pm, before the scheduled meeting.

If you wish to testify virtually, please register at the link below no later than 7 pm on October 21st, 2026. If you wish to testify in person there will be a sign up sheet in the room. PB 464 is a Quasi-Judicial case and follows the Section 1.105 in the Board's Rules of Procedures. Please familiarize yourself with the process prior to testifying as this is very different from the regular public meetings.

Board Information
The Planning Board typically meets the first and third Thursday of each month beginning at 7:00 pm in the Banneker Room of the George Howard Building (3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043). Alternative dates may be scheduled at the discretion of the Board. Meeting agendas and all supplemental materials are posted to the Planning Board website two (2) weeks in advance of the meeting date.

*If this is your first-time providing testimony in a virtual public meeting and you have questions or if you don’t have access to a computer and would like to provide testimony via telephone, please contact the Department as soon as possible at planningboard@howardcountymd.gov so that staff can assist you with registration or answer any questions you may have.
