Important Message for Primary Voters Not Registered with the Republican or Democratic Parties
We would like to notify you that Howard County will not have a contest for the Board of Education in the upcoming June primary election. This means that there will not be a nonpartisan ballot in the primary election. The Board of Education contest will appear on the ballot in the November general election.
In Maryland, you must be registered with the Republican Party to vote the Republican ballot, or you must be registered with the Democratic Party to vote the Democratic ballot in the primary election. If you want to check or change your party affiliation to vote during the primary election, follow these steps:
- Check your party affiliation online at https://bit.ly/OnlineVoterSearch
- Change your party affiliation (only if you want to vote in the primary election) online at https://bit.ly/OnlineVoterUpdate
The deadline to change your party affiliation is Tuesday, June 2nd.
