The Circuit Courthouse, opened in 2021, is the largest capital project in Howard County history and replaces the County’s 175-year-old historic courthouse that presented numerous deficiencies and challenges. In addition to the Circuit Court, the Courthouse also includes office space for the Howard County State’s Attorney, Howard County Sheriff, Howard County Bar Association, Maryland Public Defender, Clerk of the Court and Register of Wills.
Circuit Grounds Café
Circuit Grounds Café, located on the first floor of the Howard County Circuit Courthouse, offers a vibrant and welcoming stop for visitors. Guests can enjoy fresh breakfast selections, hearty hot and cold sandwiches, Caribbean-inspired dishes, crisp salads, pastries, smoothies, and cold or hot beverages. Open to the public Monday through Friday, the café provides convenient options for a quick bite or a relaxing break during your courthouse visit. Those coming to the courthouse for special occasions—such as marriage license appointments or ceremonies—are invited to stop by and explore a variety of food and refreshment options before or after their visit. Circuit Grounds Café is also available to support group visits with delicious meal options upon request.
