Howard County Department of Public Works is composed of the Director's Office, Bureau of Engineering, Bureau of Environmental Services, Bureau of Facilities, Bureau of Highways and Bureau of Utilities.

The Director's Office provides leadership and coordination among the Bureaus to advance the quality of life for our community by providing exceptional level of public service. Employees coordinate the daily functions, customer service, the capital improvement program and real estate services.

George Howard Building and Complex 
Closed to Public on Friday, March 12, 2021

The George Howard Building complex will be inaccessible to the public on Friday, March 12, 2021.  County drop-boxes will not be available to receive deliveries on that day.  Any document submissions that are due on March 12 th may be submitted on Monday, March 15th.    

Coronavirus Update: County Buildings Closed to Public

Non-emergency County offices and facilities remain closed to the public until further notice. Operations continue through teleworking by eligible employees.  Residents with general DPW customer service inquiries can send their inquiries via  e-mail or telephone at 410-313-4400.
