ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Howard County Department of Public Works (DPW) Bureau of Engineering’s Transportation and Special Projects Division will hold a community outreach meeting on Thursday, November 13th from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., in the media center at Deep Run Elementary School, to discuss planned improvements for Old Waterloo Road in Elkridge.

The proposed project includes installing a sidewalk along the west side of Old Waterloo Road from MD 108 to 6528/6534 Old Waterloo Road to complete the sidewalk connection and enhance pedestrian mobility in the area. The project also calls for the installation of storm drains and stormwater management infrastructure along Old Waterloo Road between MD 108 and Lark Brown Road to improve drainage. The project is currently in the design phase.

In the last seven years, we have invested more than $65 million in multimodal transportation projects, allowing us to construct, expand, and improve our infrastructure to ensure a safer, healthier, and more inclusive community for all. Like our other sidewalk enhancements throughout the county, this project builds upon our best-in-the-nation Complete Streets Policy and impactful WalkHoward initiatives to improve neighborhood connections and provide our residents with safe, healthy, and enhanced transportation options.
