ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A developer project to install a new storm drain system along a portion of New Cut Road approximately half a mile north of Hillsborough Road in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, January 19th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early February.
Signs and flagging operations will be in place in the project area to alert residents and pedestrians of the construction work and the corresponding road closure along New Cut Road between Hillsborough Road and College Avenue. Traffic will follow a clearly marked detour using Hillsborough Road, Village Crest Drive, and College Avenue.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
