ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to install a 30,000-gallon fire suppression tank at the intersection of Mill Creek Court and Haviland Mill Road in Clarksville, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, January 26th. The project will include a 60-foot-long by 40-foot-wide by 15-foot-high construction trench to place the tank underground, with a concrete pad installed on top. The tank will enhance fire protection for the surrounding community as it is not covered by the County’s water distribution system. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-March.
Flagging operations will be in place and signs have been posted to alert motorists and residents of the construction, as temporary lane closures can be expected along both Mill Creek Court and Haviland Mill Road in the project area during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
