This Advisory Board provides recommendations relating to plans, policies and programs for public recreation, and to review plans for and hold hearings on the acquisition and development of land for public recreation and open space.
All members must be Howard County residents.

By virtue of and pursuant to the provisions of Subtitle 4, Section 19.400, of the Howard County Code, notice is hereby given that the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board will conduct a Public Hearing to consider the Department of Recreation and Parks’ Fiscal Year 2021 "Draft" Capital Budget, and the Fiscal Year 2021-2030 "Draft" Capital Improvement Program for the acquistion and development of park and recreation lands.
The hearing will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 7pm at the Department Headquarters located at 7120 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia, MD 21046-1677. Beginning November 20, 2019, if you would like to view the draft budget, please click here, or you can call 410-313-4685 and ask that one be mailed to you.
Beginning, November 20, 2019, citizens can sign up online to speak at the hearing. From the same link, citizens will have the option to provide online testimony. Citizens are reminded that internet testimony is considered public information and is subject to the Maryland Public Information Act. Citizens who do not wish to sign up online, will still be able to sign up in person at the public hearing beginning at 6:30 PM on the night of the hearing.
An interpreter for people who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available.
