Recreation and Parks Advisory Board

This Advisory Board provides recommendations relating to plans, policies and programs for public recreation, and to review plans for and hold hearings on the acquisition and development of land for public recreation and open space. 

All members must be Howard County residents.

Recreation & Parks Advisory Board   

Solicits Public Comment on the  

FY2018 Capital Budget

Howard County’s Department of Recreation & Parks will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the Department's "Draft" Fiscal Year 2018 Capital Budget and the "Draft" Fiscal Year 2018-2027 Capital Budget Improvement Program for the acquisition and development of park and recreation lands. The hearing will take place in the Conference Rooms at the Recreation and Parks Headquarters, 7120 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia, MD 21046. 

Beginning, November 30, citizens can sign up online to speak at the hearing. From the same link, citizens will have the option to provide online testimony. Citizens are reminded that internet testimony is considered public information and is subject to the Maryland Public Information Act. Citizens who do not wish to sign up online, will still be able to sign up in person at the public hearing beginning at 6:30 PM on the night of the hearing.
