The Howard County Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Stormwater Management Division will hold a community outreach meeting on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at the Department of Recreation and Parks Headquarters located at 7120 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia, MD 21046, to discuss the Troy Park Champion Tree Protection Project.
The proposed project will stabilize a short section of eroding and undercut streambank next to a 61” County Champion Swamp White Oak tree located in Troy Park, 6500 Mansion Lane, Elkridge, MD. The project is scheduled to commence construction in June of 2025. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in June 2025.
The informal meeting will include an overview of the proposed design and construction through a PowerPoint presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session. County staff and the project’s design consultant will be on hand to answer any questions and gather public comments.
The project is funded through the County’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund.
