Adventure Shack & Rentals at Centennial Park

The Adventure Shack & Rentals has closed for the season!

However, the Adventure Shack will be open 3-7:30pm for Christmas in the Park on Tuesday, Dec 6!  Stop on by for dinner or a quick snack!

Your drivers license, rental fee and an additional $10 deposit are required to rent a boat. Life jackets are provided and must be worn at all times. The lake and boat ramp are closed during inclement weather. All boats are rented based on a first-come, first-served basis; we do not take reservations or hold boats. To reach the Boat Rental staff, please call 410-313-7303. All customers need to complete the Boat Rental Agreement in order to rent a boat.

To find the boat rental dock, enter Centennial Park through the main South entrance off Route 108.  Once in the park, take the second right and park in the top lot.  Walk down the pathway next to the access road to the Adventure Shack & Rentals area.

Operating hours may be altered during park events, such as extended hours for Sunset Serenades concerts and closures during triathlons on the lake.

Pricing

Boat Rentals are closed for the season!  See you in April 2017!

Cash or Credit Card (No checks):

2- or 4-Seat Paddle Boat: $10 per half hour
Canoe: $10 per hour
Kayak (single or double): $10 per hour
Row Boat: $10 per hour
Fishing boat with trolling motor*: $35 for a half-day rental (4 hours) or $60 for a full-day rental (8 hours)

ADDITIONAL $10 Deposit and photo ID REQUIRED with all rentals.  For example, if paying by cash, you must have the initial rental fee PLUS the $10 deposit per boat before renting.  If paying by card, your card will be charged the initial rental fee and held as a deposit - your card WILL be charged if you forfeit your deposit for any reason.

* By law, anyone operating this boat that was born after July 31, 1972 MUST have a Maryland Basic Boating Certificate.  The Adventure Shack is not responsible for any fines resulting from a failure to comply.

Rules & Regulations

Boat rentals have ended for the 2016 season!  See you again in April 2017!

1. At least one person in each boat must be at least 16 years of age with valid photo ID.
2. The rental office accepts cash or credit card (no checks).
3. ALL patrons are required to wear the U.S.C.G. approved life vest provided AT ALL TIMES.
4. No pets are allowed on a rental boat.
5. Please do not feed the wildlife.  It is prohibited.
6. No swimming in the lake.
7. All children are counted in the number of people on the boat, regardless of age.
8. All park rules and regulations must be followed at all times.
9. Entering and exiting the boat is the passenger's responsibility.

Failure to follow these rules at all times will result in the loss of deposit.  If paying by card, your card WILL be charged the additional $10 deposit if you forfeit the deposit for any reason.

Inclement Weather

The lake is closed in the event of inclement weather.  The Adventure Shack & Rentals may close early or not open at all in case of inclement weather in the forecast.  Call 410-313-7303 before heading to the park for the most up-to-date information.

Boat Rentals have ended for 2016.  The lake will remain open to personal boats until Dec 1.  Visit the main Centennial Park page for information on launching your own boat.

Renters should return to the rental dock immediately when you hear thunder while on the lake.  Listen for announcements from Adventure Shack staff as well.
