The safety of our drivers and passengers on local roadways will always be a priority of the Howard County Police. HCPD now offers residents the opportunity to report concerning traffic situations throughout the county. Each report will be reviewed by a Traffic Enforcement Section officer to determine next steps.

- Speeding
- Unsafe passing/ lane changes
- Stop sign violations
- Traffic light violations
- Cell phone usage
- Tailgating
- Pedestrian violations
- Right of way violations
- Improper lane use
Additional recurring issues can be reported with descriptive details.
Respondents will receive a response within five business days of receiving a reoccurring traffic violation form. For isolated violations, forms will be reviewed and a letter will be sent to the offending vehicle’s owner as possible and appropriate.

The following highways are excluded because they fall under the jurisdiction of the Maryland State Police:
- Interstate 70
- Interstate 95

This form should be used for isolated incidents. Entries must include the violator’s vehicle’s tag number and description.
This form should be used for a persistent traffic issue(s) at a specific location within Howard County.
Parking complaints are handled by the appropriate police districts and auxiliary officers.
Signage, roadway design and traffic signal concerns are handled by the Howard County Department of Public Works – Traffic Engineering division.
