County Executive Ball Announces $8.1 Million Grant For New Cut Road Repair
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball announced that the County has received a grant award of up to $8.1 million from the National Resources Conservation Services (NRCS) to rebuild the portion of New Cut Road that washed away in the May 2018 Ellicott City flood. The County estimates that all work will be completed, and New Cut Road will re-open, between July - September of 2020, weather permitting.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will attend a ribbon cutting on Wednesday for a new facility for Freshly, a health-conscious food delivery service. The new 171,000 square-foot facility will be located at Bollman Place in Savage and serve as the company’s East Coast location for food preparation, cooking, assembly, and distribution, Freshly has spent over $25 Million on this new facility and currently employ 350 workers, with the opportunity to hire as many as 700 in the future.
