Howard County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, September 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Oella Room at Roger Carter Community Center, located at 3000 Milltowne Drive, in Ellicott City, to discuss the study, design and planned improvements to Rogers Avenue between US 40 and Court House Drive.

DPW’s Transportation and Special Projects Division plans to modify Rogers Avenue to enable safe access to drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists by adding center turn lanes and crosswalks, as well as bike lanes and sidewalks along both sides of the roadway. The existing culvert will also be upgraded to meet current County criteria to pass a 100-year storm. This project is expected to begin in fall 2022 pending land acquisition.

While there will be no formal presentation, the design plans will be available for public viewing and staff members will be on hand to explain the proposed work, answer any questions and gather public comments.

Those unable to attend the meeting who would like to view the proposed plans and/or have questions regarding the project should contact Mr. Thomas Auyeung with DPW’s Transportation and Special Projects Division at 410-313-6142 or email [email protected].
