Alternative Compliance Process

Through the Alternative Compliance process, an applicant may request that the Department of Planning and Zoning (DPZ) grant relief from strict compliance with specific land development regulations. DPZ requires mitigation and remediation for relief from specific site design regulations.

Alternative Compliance applications to the Subdivision and Land Development Regulations or to Forest Conservation Regulations are submitted electronically through the ProjectDox system. 

Engineering Design Manual Waivers are processed by paper application to the Development Engineering Division. Please see the below application for submission information.
