1st Alarm Girls Fire Camp

The Women’s Committee of the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS) will hold a two-day camp for young women, ages ten through fourteen, who are interested in learning more about the fire service and what it takes to become a firefighter. This 1st Alarm Girls Fire Camp will be held at the Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) in Marriottsville August 13th and 14th. This fun and exciting weekend will focus on learning about what it takes to be a firefighter, team building, a burn demo, CPR training, and much more!

We are now accepting applications. It is a great opportunity for firefighters and paramedics to help girls build a sense of teamwork and responsibility. 1 st Alarm Girls Fire Camp will take place at the Howard County Fire and Rescue Public Safety Training Center (PSTC), located at 2200 Scott Wheeler Dr. Marriottsville, MD 21104.

Dates and hours for the camp are as follows:

  • August 13- 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
  • August 14- 08:00A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

There will be a graduation celebration, on August 14 at 6:00 P.M. for the girls and invited guests.

If your child is selected to attend, parents are encouraged to attend an orientation meeting from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm on August 1st to provide further information about 1st Alarm Girls Fire Camp. The meeting will take place at the PSTC.
