Elementary School Child Care

Come join our exciting and energizing before-care and after-care programs! Your child will have the opportunity to participate in group activities that include crafts, games, recreational sports, cooking, and special events in the comfort of their own school. Before-care programs begin at 7am and run until school begins. After-care programs begin when school is-dismissed and run until 6pm.

There are also optional, full-day programs for specific days when schools are closed.

All programs are licensed through the Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care. Site staff are trained and take continuing education classes each year.

Child care participants must be attending school at the same location as the desired program. To reserve a space, a $50 non-refundable registration fee and one month's tuition are required. To speak to a Child Care Registration Representative, please call 410-313-7275 or email at registration@howardcountymd.gov.

July 22, 2020 – School Year and Blast Camps UPDATE:

School Year – Since HCPSS 2020-2021 school year will be virtual from September 8 – January 28; Recreation and Parks is deferring the first child care payment (typically due on July 17) until Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Parents who feel they will need before and/or after care if children return to schools on February 1, 2021 do not need to do anything at this time. Please know we will continue to post updates here as necessary. If you have a question, our Registration Team can be reached at registration@howardocuntymd.gov.

We are researching the possibility of offering a fall program that meets the needs of parents.  We are looking into ‘school day’ and before and after care options that would be a separate program and registration to our normal school day program that is on hold until February 1, 2021.  We will reach out to current customers with updates when we have them and continue to post updates on this page too.

Camps - We are very excited to say that our Blast camps are rolling along and the children are really enjoying the time spent with their peers! They have had to chance to get creative; tye-dying shirts, creating their own dances and staying active with outside games (socially distanced of course).
