Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today unveiled the impact a nearly $5 million grant from the Maryland General Assembly has played on Howard County’s implementation of a new statewide youth mental and behavioral health and wellness initiative that aims to increase mental health resources and services for all Marylanders.

Howard County Government Closings for Juneteenth National Freedom Day on June 19th
Howard County Government offices, 50+ centers, courts and animal shelter will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth National Freedom Day holiday on Wednesday, June 19th. There will be regular Wednesday curbside trash, recycling, yard trim and food scrap collections on the 19th and the Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open.

In response to high temperatures forecast by the National Weather Service, Dr. Maura J. Rossman, Howard County Health Officer, has issued a heat alert for Howard County for Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23.
Montgomery Road Sidewalk Project to Begin
A Howard County construction project to install sidewalk along the south side of Montgomery Road near Steepridge Drive, connecting Steepridge Drive to the Lawyers Hill apartment complex, in Elkridge, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, June 24th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late August.
