The legislation expands eligibility for the County’s senior tax credit and extends the availability of the tax credit from eight to 10 years for eligible Howard County property owners

A Howard County construction project to perform preventative bridge maintenance on Park Circle Drive over Deep Run near Coca Cola Drive in Hanover, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, September 8th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early October 2025.

The County's Department of Public Works’ Stormwater Management Division will hold a community outreach meeting on Thursday, September 18th to discuss a project to repair the Westgate Stormwater Pond located near 3519 West Gate Drive in Ellicott City. 

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Today, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball announced $500,000 in CARES Act funding will go to support Howard County residents in need of energy assistance through the Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC). The grant funding will assist nearly 1,500 families who have applied to the CAC for electric or oil energy assistance. 

The signed Mutual Aid Agreement will expand firefighting assistance on base and in Howard County, while the Intergovernmental Support Agreement will strengthen public works projects

A Howard County construction project to repair the Bonnie Branch culvert under Ilchester Road near the intersection with Bonnie Brach Road in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday, September 30th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-October 2025.

A Howard County construction project to repair the Tributary to Cattail Creek culvert under Ed Warfield Road near 16460/16475 Ed Warfield Road in Woodbine, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 13th. Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic through the work zone during the mobilization of the concrete repair equipment and temporary lane closures can also be expected during the construction hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025.
