ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to restore and stabilize a heavily eroded storm drain outfall channel in Ellicott City is expected to begin on or about Thursday, October 15. The stream channel behind 9676, 9680 and 9690 Gwynn Park Drive and 9696 and 9700 Riverside Circle will be repaired and stabilized with the installation of rock structures and vegetative stabilization that will reduce instream erosion and improve downstream water quality in the Little Patuxent River. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late December.

Signs will be posted near the site to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Funded through Howard County’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund, this project will support the County’s water quality improvement and restoration efforts under its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permit.
