Based on Baltimore City's successful completion of its tank projects, the Maryland Department of Health and Maryland Department of the Environment have lifted their standing precautionary advisory that recommended individuals with severely weakened immune systems should drink bottled, boiled or filtered water related to a previous one-time positive test for Cryptosporidium in September 2023.

In May 2019, County Executive Ball announced the Safe and Sound flood mitigation plan with the goal of significantly reducing flood waters on Main Street.
