The Flag Commission launches online portal where individuals of all ages can submit their entries for Howard County’s new flag; deadline to submit is June 30th.

The Commission will invite the creativity of the public to recommend options for the first Howard County flag re-design in over 50 years.

The Howard County Health Department released today a 2023 opioid overdose data summary, showing that fatal overdoses dropped from 41 in 2022 to 25 in 2023, a 39% decrease.

The Howard County Office of Transportation will be holding a Transportation Open House on Tuesday, January 30th, to discuss the planning, design, operations and maintenance of the County's transportation systems. The event will also be an opportunity for attendees to learn about the multitude of transportation options, modes, agencies and upcoming projects in Howard County. 

The 16-member Council will review and recommend best practices to decrease religious hate crimes throughout the county.

Howard County Executive Ball today announced that the County’s Department of Public Work’s Bureau of Facilities’ Harriet Tubman Cultural Center project has been selected by the American Public Works Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter as a winner of its 2024’s Project of the Year Award for Historical Restoration/Preservation – $5 to $25 million.

This new, innovative dashboard will help increase transparency with the disbursement of federal funding.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today released a draft letter addressed to President Joe Biden urging him to use his position and influence to secure an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza War. This draft letter, which will be available for public input, calls for the release of all hostages and negotiation of a bilateral ceasefire to end hostilities.
