Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today signed an executive order announcing the members of the inaugural Youth Engagement Leadership Workgroup. The new workgroup, comprised of more than two dozen diverse young people, will ensure young people have a voice on the policies and practices of government, empowering their voices to be heard.  

Columbia was named the sixth “Best City for Summer Jobs” for 2023 by WalletHub, the personal finance outlet. Columbia is the only city from the mid-Atlantic in the top 10.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today announced that Howard County has received a record 51 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo). Howard County received the most awards in the state of Maryland from NACo, the leading organization representing county-level government operations.

There are no indications that anyone else was involved in the incident and the motive is unknown at this time.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball kicked off the celebration of Pride Month today with a proclamation and inaugural Pride flag raising ceremony in front of the George Howard Building in Ellicott City. It is the first time the Pride Flag has ever been flown at the seat of County Government in Howard County.
