ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Tomorrow, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will trade places with Caitlin Patrick of Maple Dell Farm in Woodbine as part of the 16th annual Farm-City Celebration, which runs from September 21 to October 6. Ball will help run the Patrick family’s farming operation, while “County Executive” Patrick will get a taste of a typical day in the life of a County Executive. After their switch, the two will meet at the annual job exchange luncheon and share experiences.

“The annual Howard County Farm-City Celebration is a special opportunity to bring together our rural and urban communities. From the abundance of our agriculture to the excitement of Downtown Columbia and Ellicott City, our county is fortunate to have an incredible diversity of communities,” said Ball. “To learn even more about our agricultural community, I will trade places for the morning and try out a new title as ‘Farmer Ball.’ I look forward to highlighting our farm-city interdependence and experiencing my home county from a new perspective.”
