Howard County Government offices, courts, animal shelter and 50+ centers will be closed in observance of the Indigenous Peoples’ Day holiday on Monday, October 11th. However, regular Monday trash, recycling, yard trim and food scrap collection services will be in effect and the Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open.

The Howard County Health Department has awarded $15,000 in grants to five local organizations to assist with tobacco/vaping use prevention, education, and cessation outreach efforts, with specific emphasis on populations/groups identified as at risk or having a known health disparity related to tobacco.
