Woodland Road Stream Stabilization to Begin
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to stabilize sections of the stream along Woodland Road near MD 108 and Old Annapolis Road in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Monday, November 27th. The project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area and weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will hold his first Residents’ Budget Hearing for the Fiscal Year 2025 budget cycle on Monday, December 11th at 6:00 p.m. This year’s budget hearing will be held virtually and residents can sign-up online to speak at the hearing by going to www.howardcountymd.gov/budgettestimony.

Howard County Makes Significant Strides to Help Farmers with Land Preservation
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today announced that the Agricultural Land Preservation Program (ALPP) has updated its financing terms to incentivize even more farmers to preserve their land as “Farmland Forever.” Rhonda and Jeff Winkler, long-time Howard County farmers, recently purchased a 58.5-acre crop farm on St. Michael’s Road in Woodbine to expand their local operations. This will be the first property to enter the ALPP under the updated terms.
