Howard County’s Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Utility Design Division will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, August 9th to present plans for a proposed project to install approximately 400 linear feet of sewer main along a portion of Landing Road in Elkridge, to connect the property at 5667 Landing Road to the County’s sewer system. The project is expected to begin in spring 2023.

The Howard County Commission on Disabilities is now seeking nominations for its 2022 Employer Awards, which recognize Howard County employers who, as evidenced by hiring practices, staff development, advancement possibilities and accommodation practices, value diversity and provide equal opportunities for employees with disabilities. Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today discussed the impact of Wednesday evening’s storm on Ellicott City and other regions in Howard County. Areas around Howard County experienced up to 2.5 inches of rainfall over a two-hour period, triggering multiple Flash Flood Warnings. The National Weather Service also issued a Tornado Warning for eastern Howard County.

The Howard County Human Rights Commission is now seeking nominations for its 2022 Jim Henson and Jean Toomer Individual, the Dr. Murray Simon Student, and the Colette Roberts Organization awards. Presented annually, these awards honor individuals and community organizations who have made significant contributions to human and civil rights in Howard County.

Howard County Government offices, 50+ centers, courts and animal shelter will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth National Freedom Day holiday on Monday, June 20th.
