The Department of Recreation and Parks is hosting a variety of different activities and celebrations to commemorate Black History Month. Below is the tentative schedule of events and activities:
Tuesday, February 3: Family Movie Night featuring Cool Runnings at Harriet Tubman Cultural Center. Doors open at 6:30pm and movie starts at 7pm. Register online here. FREE!
Saturday, February 7: Unfulfilled Promises, Shifting Allegiances, and Black Freedom: Self Determination of Enslaved People During Three American Wars (HoCo250) at Ellicott City Colored School from 1-2:30 pm. Register online here. FREE for all ages!
Wednesday, February 11: Celebrating Black History Month Trivia at Ellicott City 50+ Center from 1-2 PM. Register online here. FREE!
Thursday, February 19: Hand Dancing & Bop Dance Class with Shirley Duncan at Harriet Tubman Cultural Center from 6-8 PM. Register online here. FREE!
