The Office on Aging and Independence (OAI) Showcase is an annual event that brings together community members, service providers, and local organizations to highlight the wide range of programs, resources, and supports available to older adults, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities in Howard County. Attendees can explore exhibitor booths, attend educational presentations, participate in activities, and connect with experts in aging, health, and wellness.
Getting Here
The event is located in The Mall of Columbia at the lower level center court near Dunkin' and the former Lord and Taylor. The closest parking are the two garage lots off of Little Patuxent Parkway.

Keynote Presentation: “Still Living, Still Thriving: The Power of Staying Connected” presented by Jessica Chaney, Older Adult Program Manager for the Mental Health Association of Maryland
This inspiring talk will celebrate the strength, wisdom, and resilience of older adults while highlighting the powerful role connection plays in healthy aging. During this presentation, Jessica will highlight the importance of staying engaged with family, friends, and community, and how meaningful relationships and social support can improve mental health, enhance overall well-being, and contribute to longer, healthier lives. Through uplifting insights and relatable experiences, the presentation reminds audiences that growing older is not about slowing down. It is about continuing to live fully, stay connected, and thrive at every stage of life.
More About the Presenter
Jessica Chaney is the Older Adult Program Manager for the Mental Health Association of Maryland, where she advocates for the mental health and well-being of older adults throughout the community. Over the past several years, she has supported older adults and caregivers by providing educational workshops, engaging trainings, and peer support opportunities. Known for her compassionate and relatable approach, Jessicia is committed to creating welcoming, nonjudgmental spaces where older adults feel valued, supported, and connected.
