VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING on Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 p.m.

The Howard County Delegation to the Maryland General Assembly, chaired by Senator Clarence Lam and Delegate Natalie Ziegler, will hold a virtual public hearing on Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 p.m. to gather input from community members on legislation proposed for the 2025 General Assembly session. The hearing will be livestreamed via Zoom and can be accessed by going to the Maryland General Assembly's "Session Information" website, scrolling down to "Today's Calendar," clicking on "Committee Meetings" and selecting "Howard" under "Other." Next, click on the red "Live!" button (which will appear once the meeting is in session), which will open the streaming video on YouTube. Community members can also go directly to the Maryland General Assembly's YouTube channel to watch the meeting.

Statewide bills, as well as Howard County local bills and bonds that have not yet had a public hearing will be heard. Local Howard County bills or bond requests that were heard during the delegation's previous December 16th public hearing, will not be heard at this meeting. The agenda for the hearing can be found on attached and is posted on the Delegation's "Past Maryland General Assembly Meetings" website.

Community members interested in testifying during the January 28th hearing, should complete this online Google Form by no later than 5:00 p.m. on the 28th. Those who sign up will be sent the Zoom link prior to the hearing using the email address provided on the form. Participants should use the same first and last name they use on the sign up form when joining the Zoom meeting in order to ensure admission to the meeting.

Community members who would prefer to submit written testimony instead of speaking at the hearing should email their testimony to hoc1@mlis.state.md.us by no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 27th to allow members ample time to review it before the hearing.
