COLUMBIA, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball held a 2019 “Year of the Veteran” celebration today at Howard Community College to connect veterans and military families with services and opportunities. The event included free medical and dental screenings and collected over 100 donated suits and accessories to assist veterans in need of professional attire.

“My father is an Air Force veteran and I am personally grateful every day for the sacrifices of our military personnel and their families,” said Ball. “I want to thank every Howard County veteran for their service, not only for their time in the armed forces, but also as they continue to serve our community in business, nonprofit leadership, athletics, education and more. Today’s event was about honoring their service and providing a pathway to future opportunity.”
