The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 28, at 6 p.m. at Elkridge Landing Middle School Cafeteria (7085 Montgomery Rd, Elkridge, MD 21075) to discuss the Lawyers Hill property (8.7 acres in Elkridge) that the County purchased in 2024. This parcel is listed on the Maryland Historical Trust Maryland’s Inventory of Historic Properties, and the county would like to hear from the public on possible ways to develop and preserve the property that may include a park while retaining the wooded character that is currently on the site.
There will be a short presentation about the site and possible park amenities that could be added. After the presentation, members of the public are welcome to share their thoughts and ask questions.
Attendees will be allowed to speak for up to three minutes per person. If unable to attend, you can provide online testimony from 6:00pm on April 28 through May 12, 2026 by visiting
