The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will hold a public meeting on Thursday, April 23, at 6 p.m. at Ellicott Mills Middle School Cafeteria (4445 Montgomery Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043 to discuss the Lawyers Hill property (8.7 acres in Elkridge) that the County purchased in 2024. This parcel is listed on the Maryland Historical Trust Maryland’s Inventory of Historic Properties, and the county would like to hear from the public on possible ways to develop and preserve the property that may include a park while retaining the wooded character that is currently on the site.
There will be a short presentation about the site and possible park amenities that could be added. After the presentation, members of the public are welcome to share their thoughts and ask questions.
Attendees will be allowed to speak for up to three minutes per person. You can sign up in person to speak at the meeting by visiting https://apps.howardcountymd.gov/E_RAPTestimony/.
For those unable to attend the meeting, you may provide online testimony from (timeframe to be determined). Please note that online testimony is considered public information and is subject to the Maryland Public Information Act.
