ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County Department of Recreation & Parks project to remove dead ash trees along the Dorsey Hall pathway system in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Monday, February 15th. The work will take place on the section of pathway along Columbia Road between Rams Horn Row and Broken Lute Way. The pathway will be closed to the public during this time. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by mid-March.

The trees were destroyed by invasive emerald ash borer beetles and pose a potential danger to pedestrians and cyclists. The resulting wood and debris from the project will remain on site to allow for nutrient recycling and local wildlife habitat.

The work will be performed by a professional tree removal contractor.

For questions or concerns about this project, contact Sean Poholsky with the Department of Recreation & Parks at 410-313-0701 or email [email protected].
