UPDATE (April 21): IN CUSTODY: Shantay Lashay O’Donnell, 46, of Virginia, has been identified as the shooter in the April 18 attempted robbery of a Shell gas station clerk in Columbia. She is currently in custody in another state on unrelated charges. O'Donnell will be served with multiple Howard County charges in the coming days, after which additional information will be available.
UPDATE (April 20): Police are releasing surveillance video (below) and offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the suspect. The victim is currently listed in serious condition at Shock Trauma.

ORIGINAL RELEASE
Howard County police are investigating a shooting that occurred inside a gas station in Columbia in which one person was injured.
At approximately 7:43 p.m. April 17 police were called to the Shell gas station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way in Columbia for a report of a shooting.
An adult male gas station employee was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.
Through preliminary investigation detectives believe a single suspect fired shots during an attempted robbery before fleeing the scene. No one else was injured.
