Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred overnight following the hit and run of a police vehicle.
At approximately 2:17 a.m., a 2018 Infiniti Q60 struck an occupied, parked HCPD police vehicle in the 7100 block of Montevideo Road in Jessup. The driver of the Infiniti fled and the officer pursued.
The Infiniti crashed into a retaining wall approximately one mile away. One adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional were transported to Shock Trauma and are currently stable.
The investigation is ongoing. Montevideo Road remains closed at the Howard/Anne Arundel County line.
Per Maryland law, the Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) has assumed the investigation into the fatal collision and will release any follow-up information. All media inquiries should be directed to the IID.
