Mental Health Resources in HCPSS & Mental Health Community Advisory Council

• HCPSS behavioral health supports are a multi-tiered system encompassing universal prevention, targeted interventions, and intensive individualized services to address the behavioral health needs of youth and adolescents.
• The Mental Health Community Advisory Council (MHCAC) was highlighted as a community-wide collaborative focused on promoting behavioral health, reducing stigma, and improving equitable access to services and resources for children, youth, and families.
• Current MHCAC initiatives include community newsletters, coordination of mental health resource fairs, and support for high school mental health clubs, with an emphasis on strengthening collaboration and streamlining access to community resources.

6. LBHA Director Updates
   1. Howard County Health Department, Bureau of Behavioral Health staff have won 3 National Association of Counties (NACO) Awards this year: Peer support in libraries, sequential intercept model (SIM) Mapping, Firearm Safe Storage
   2. 2026 Virtual Regional, Opioid Restitution Fund, TOWN HALL SERIES, Share your ideas for using Rx Opioid Settlement Funds in Maryland. Central Maryland: August 4 (5:30–6:30 pm) Baltimore City, Baltimore Co., Anne Arundel Co., Howard Co., Harford Co., Carroll Co., Meeting Link
   3. The MDH Vital Statistics Administration (VSA) has released its preliminary Q4 2025 Report on Unintentional Drug- and Alcohol-Related Intoxication Deaths. Review the full report and utilize the data for critical public health planning and resource deployment. View the summary with key messages.
