Join us on Thursday, September 24th, at 6 p.m. as the Office of Human Rights & Equity presents a screening and post-screening discussion of GATHER - The Fight to Regain Our Native Foodways.
GATHER (2020) is an intimate portrait of the growing movement among Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. Directed by Sanjay Rawal and produced by Sterlin Harjo (Seminole, Muscogee), the film is a powerful reminder that Native food rights are human rights.
This screening is being presented as part of the Howard County Office of Human Rights & Equity's Reel Enlightenment Series.
Note on Admission: This event is strictly non-monetary and free to the public, made possible through the support of the county. The goal is not commercial profit, but cultural enrichment and community engagement.
