ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR), Howard County Government’s Department of Recreation & Parks, and Howard County Public School System to host Ball’s 10th annual USMCR’s Toys for Tots Program giveaway this past Saturday, December 20th at the County’s new 9755 Patuxent Woods Drive building in Columbia. Thanks to the generous contributions of County employees and Howard County residents, Ball and his team were able to distribute toys to nearly 4,000 children this holiday season. Photos from the event can be found on the County’s Flickr website.
While the holiday season is a perfect time for us to reflect and count our blessings and the special people in our lives, for some of our friends and neighbors who may be financially struggling in silence, this time of year can be especially hard. Through our annual Toys for Tots campaign, we hope to spread love and cheer and help make the holidays a little lighter and brighter for every Howard County child and family. I’m extremely grateful for our enduring partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and thankful to every employee and resident who donated to help make this year’s event a roaring success.
