ELLICOTT CITY, MD - The Howard County Department of Public Works (DPW) Bureau of Environmental Services’ Storm Water Management Division will hold a community outreach meeting on Wednesday, October 28th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Belmont Room at Howard County Library System’s (HCLS) Elkridge Branch, to discuss planned improvements for the Willowood 235 stormwater pond near the intersection of Wesley Lane and Sutton Court in Elkridge.
The proposed project will include replacement of the old metal outlet structure with a new concrete outlet structure that will have a longer service life and bring the pond into compliance with current Maryland Department of the Environment requirements. The project is scheduled to commence construction in fall 2027 and weather permitting, is expected to be completed by spring 2028.
The informal meeting will include an overview of the design, followed by an open question-and-answer discussion. County staff and the project’s design consultant will also be on hand to answer any questions and gather public comments.
