ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to extend a water main along Woodleigh Drive in Columbia, is expected to begin on or about Monday, October 18th. The project will include the installation of approximately 600 linear feet of six-inch water main along northbound Woodleigh Drive. The extension will connect Woodleigh Drive to the existing water system along Owen Brown Road and will provide public water service access to three existing properties. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early November 2021.

Signs will be posted and flagging operations will be in place as temporary lane shifts can be expected during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
