ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to repair the Bonnie Branch culvert under Ilchester Road near the intersection with Bonnie Brach Road in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, September 22nd. The project includes cleaning debris and repairing deteriorated areas of culvert, which will increase the service life of the structure and promote safety for the traveling public. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early October 2025.

While the project is not expected to impact the flow of vehicular traffic in the area, the roadway shoulder will be closed within the project limits during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Signs will be posted to alert motorists and community members of the construction work.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
