ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to replace a failed pipe culvert crossing near 12300 Folly Quarter Road in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Wednesday, September 15th. This work will replace a single metal pipe with dual concrete pipes and concrete walls on either side of the roadway. The impacted slopes will also be further graded and armored to improve drainage and limit erosion in the project area. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late September.

Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the work. Additionally, while two-way traffic will be maintained at all times along the roadway via a flagging operation, motorists can expect delays during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
