ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to install 1,651 feet of eight-inch sewer line along Furrow Avenue between Twiford Court and Elmonte Woods Way in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, July 7th. The project will also include the installation of 10 sewer manholes and the replacement of a short stretch of the existing sewer at Twiford Court. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in early November.

The project will allow the County’s Department of Public Works to better meet the sewer needs of the area by extending the existing sewer main and providing sewer house connections up to the property limit; no work will be performed inside private property.

Signs will be posted to alert motorists and residents of the construction, and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic through the work zone, as only one lane of traffic will be open during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
