ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Phase one of a Howard County construction project to rehabilitate 986 linear feet of sewer pipe and five manholes behind 4602 South Leisure Court and neighboring properties in Ellicott City, near the Red Hill Branch, has begun. The pipe will be refurbished with Cured-in-Place Pipe lining and the manholes will receive a new cementitious lining. Weather permitting, this project phase is expected to be completed by late July.
Signs have been posted to alert residents and Meadowbrook Park visitors of the construction work, expected to take place Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and corresponding trail closure as portions of the park’s trail near the southwest corner of Pavilion A will be closed during the project. Although the County works hard to maintain a safe work area, residents and visitors are asked to avoid this area of the park while this project is underway.
The project is part of the County’s Department of Public Works’ (DPW) ongoing efforts to improve system reliability and reduce inflow and infiltration in the area.
