ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to install a sidewalk and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps along the south side of Frederick Road from Pierce Drive to Font Hill Road in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, June 16th. The project will also include the installation of a pedestrian crossing with a refuge island and bike lane striping and signage in the project area. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late August.

Sidewalks create neighborhood connections and provide our residents safe and healthy transportation options. In the last seven years, we have invested more than $65 million in multimodal transportation projects, compared to just $11.6 million during the prior four-year period. Projects like this allow us construct, expand, and improve our infrastructure to ensure a safer, healthier, and more inclusive community for all. This project builds upon the impactful Complete Streets and WalkHoward improvements projects we have already implemented along Frederick Road, further enhancing the areas transportation options.
