ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to improve drainage near 6728 Walter Scott Way in the Village of River Hill in Columbia has begun. Minor modifications will be made, including the installation of a trench drain and an outfall into the nearby stormwater management pond. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late September.

Signs have been posted in the area to alert residents of the project; however, the project is not expected to impact the general flow of traffic.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
