ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A portion of a developer project to improve access to River Hill Square at 12171 MD 108 in Clarksville is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, August 24. The work will include the realignment of Sheppard Lane with MD 108 and the installation of a new traffic signal at the MD108/Sheppard Lane intersection. Weather permitting, the project is expected to take three days to complete.

Signs and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as northbound and southbound Sheppard Lane between 5450 Sheppard Lane and MD 108 will be closed to thru traffic during the work. Motorists will follow a clearly marked detour using Homewood Road and MD 108. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-3637 will carry project updates.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
