ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to loop two public water mains in Elkridge is expected to begin on or about Monday, September 23. The project will include the installation of 12-inch water main along a north section and a south section of Landing Road. The north section will receive approximately 1,825 linear feet of new main along the northbound lane of Landing Road from Royal Coachman Drive to Ellis Lane. The south section will receive approximately 2,365 linear feet of new main along the southbound Lane of Landing Road from the Rockburn Park entrance to Montgomery Road. The loop will connect the water system between Ilchester Road and Montgomery Road, and will provide public water service to approximately 18 existing properties. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early April 2020.

Signs will be posted and flagging operations will be in place as temporary lane shifts can be expected during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
