ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is currently seeking applicants, specifically those over the age of 55, who are interested in serving on the Commission on Aging. The deadline to apply is Monday, July 1, 2019.
Comprised of 15 members, the Commission strives to promote successful aging for older adults in Howard County. The Commission’s work includes: participating in community activities; researching and advising the County Executive on policies, programs and practices that impact the health and wellbeing of older adults and their families; and providing advice and support to county agencies, non-profits and other stakeholders working to create an equitable, livable and accessible community for all older adults in Howard County.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be Howard County residents, 55 years of age or older, have an interest in maintaining an older adult-friendly county and be able to attend the Commission’s meetings which are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Department of Community Resource and Services office, located at 9830 Patuxent Woods Drive in Columbia
Applicants should send a resume and brief letter explaining why they want to serve on the Commission to Kimberly Pruim either by email to [email protected] or by mail to: Howard County Government, Office of the County Executive, Attn: Kimberly Pruim, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043. The names of eligible applicants will be submitted to the County Executive for approval and then to the County Council for confirmation.
