ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to rehabilitate the Pfefferkorn Road bridge in West Friendship, is expected to begin on Monday, December 5th. The project will include the removal and replacement of deteriorated beams, installation of new structural deck planks and replacement of the existing bridge railing with a concrete barrier. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Sunday, December 11th.

During construction, Pfefferkorn Road traffic between Rover Mill Road and Mitchells Way will be closed to thru traffic. Motorists will follow a clearly marked detour using Pfefferkorn Road north and south of the bridge, MD 32 and Frederick Road. While the work is expected to be completed by December 11th, the bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by Monday, December 12th morning.
