To become a paid Election Judge you must be a registered voter in the state of Maryland. You must be available to work at least a 16 hour day and read, write, speak, and understand the English language. You must attend a mandatory training session and be willing to follow instructions concerning election laws and the overall duties of staffing a polling place. Please call the Board of Elections for consideration.

The Howard County Board of Elections is seeking motivated people, who can endure long hours (6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), to work as Election Judges for the upcoming 2016 Presidential Primary and General elections. You can earn $165 as a Check-in, Voting Unit, Provisional or Greeting Judge or $220 as a Chief Judge, per election. An additional $45 (for New Chief Judges),  $30 (for all other New Judges) and  $30 (for all returning Election Judges) will be compensated for attending a mandatory training session prior to the 2016 Presidential General Election.
